The Lockdown of 2020 has really made me creative in the kitchen. Today we look at my Homemade Noodles that I tried and have to admit – was not bad at all!
This recipe was stolen from one of my wife’s cookbooks with a little modification.
- Flour 500 ml
- 2 Eggs
- Milk 80 ml
- Oil 15 ml
- Dash of Salt
Homemade Noodles Preparation Method
Mix the flour with a pinch of salt.
Whisk the two eggs and add the milk and oil and mix well.
Make a well in the middle of the flour and slowly pour in the egg, milk and oil mixture into it.
Mix using a fork until all the ingredients are combined. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead. Add more flour if the dough becomes too sticky.
Carry on kneading for about 5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth. Once you are happy with your new dough mixture, cover it with a cloth and leave it for about half an hour to “rest”.
After you and the dough have rested place it on a slightly floured surface and roll it out to as thin as you would like your noodles.
Cut this into strips and sprinkle with more flour to make sure they don’t stick to each other.
Cooking the Homade Noodles
Add water and salt to a pot and heat until it starts boiling. Add the homemade noodles and cook for about 3 minutes or when you see the noodles rising to the surface of the water.
Once ready drain the noodles and enjoy!
